I first engaged Gatehouse on the comprehensive and sympathetic refurbishment of a heritage farmhouse, and conversion of a cart lodge into a contemporary single-story house. This work was carried out with the upmost care and attention to detail, and with good controls on budgets.
Secondly, I commissioned Gatehouse to demolish a redundant cowshed and build a very impressive, four-bedroom family home. Under Paul’s watchful eye, they collaborated with the architects on the innovative design, and during construction were able to make suggestions which variously improved the project or made sensible economies.
